Weber Original Gourmet BBQ System

Spring and Summer are just around the corner, and we all know what that means, barbecue season is coming!! As a woman, a BBQ is just another method of cooking, one that keeps the kitchen clean! However, for men, it is a whole other experience. Most you know that when it comes to the BBQ, women must back away from the BBQ; it's a man's job! LOL. The type of BBQ a man has sort of defines how manly you are.  So behold men, the BBQ of BBQs!  The Weber Original Gourmet BBQ System is not just a BBQ, but a BBQ that transforms into a griddle, a wok, and can sear a great steak! The BBQ system fits into any Weber 22.5 inch BBQ. If you don't yet own a Weber BBQ yet, you can pick one up locally  here  for as low as $179.99. Now for some photos... The Weber 7420 Gourmet BBQ System Grate is the base component of this system.  It allows you to create those breath taking, restaurant style sear marks on your steaks while paving the way for additional components such as the griddle and the w

Face Protection

There's snow again in Vancouver, and the weather has been really cold the last few days. For those of you who are routinely exposed to these weather conditions, you already know the harsh effects the cold can have on you're face. Well I set out to find some suitable alternatives to exposing you're face to the cold and here are some of the more interesting items I've found. The Beardo , is a local creation (Whistler), which retails for $39.99(CDN) +s/h and converts from a beanie/toque to full face attire. Available in Blondie, Grey, and Black, you can see more pictures of them at the end of this article. The ColdAvenger and the Cold Avenger Expedition Balaclava (shown above) are made by Talus Outdoor Technology  and take cold weather breathing to the next level. Providing thermal comfort and warmth, ease of breathing, moisture control (to keep your face dry), humidification of exhaled cold air, not really sure what all that means, but their site has got all the scientifi

HD Waterproof Camera

A while back I wrote a rant article about my experiences driving in BC ( available here ). Well not long ago, while going out for lunch with a friend of mine, I narrowly avoided an accident, and my friend jokingly made a reference to my 'Driving In BC' article. As we discussed what we had seen during the point when our lives flashed before our eyes, my friend came up with great idea. His idea, was that I should mount a video camera on top of my truck, and record all the trips I take. Then upload them to my site, so everyone can see, what kind of crazy drivers we have here in BC. As we discussed this idea further over lunch, we realized, there were to many obstacles to overcome in mounting a video camera on my truck. Well I just came across, what might be a product that overcomes most of those obstacles. It's called the Poseidon, and it's a HD capable waterproof video camera. Available from Chinavasion the Poseidon sells for $104(CDN) + s/h, if you're interested in g

Germ Killing Ultra Violet Cutting Board System

We all know the saying "out of sight, out of mind," and for the most part we leave it at that. However, when it comes to the area in which we prepare food for consumption, the kitchen, should we really leave it at that? In between the fruits and veggies coming from farm lands and the blood dripping from our meat and poultry, are we really doing a great job cleaning our kitchen surfaces and cutting boards? I tend to bathe my counter tops and cutting boards using Fantastic with Bleach to sterilize everything, but the smell of bleach tends to make me loose my appetite. Since the mid-20th century the medical field has been using ultraviolet germicidal eradication in their sterilization practices. The people at The Sharper Image use this same technology in their Germ Killing Ultra Violet Cutting Board System. The systems is made up of a UV holder that stores 4 polypropylene boards, one for fish, meat, veggies and fruit. The UV holder kills 99.9% of the germs on the boards between
