Space Invaders Watch

How many people remember playing Space Invaders on an actual arcade machine? Well I do! I don't remember how old I was (probably 9), but I remember once a week my parents would take my brother and I out for ice cream, and the Italian Gelateria (ice cream parlour) we would frequent, had a cocktail cabinet space invaders machine. After my first game, I was addicted, and every week I got one opportunity to take on the evil forces trying to invade. I remember how my heart would pound as I could hear the marching armies steps grow quicker, there was something so simple and yet so menacing. Compared to today's gaming, it was such a different experience, sitting on the edge of the seat, hunching yourself over the screen, moving you're body from side to side, with hopes that all you're extra body movements would translate into more dead aliens. It was a simpler time....

What better way to signify the simpler times of a by gone era, then to produce a tribute Space Invaders timepiece. Thanks to TAITO Corporation, who have officially licensed Romain Jerome, the Space Invaders watch has become a reality. Limited to a run of 78 Black/White (glow in the dark) pieces, and 78 Color pieces, I'm sure these will sell out fast, no matter what the price is (no pricing available). For more detailed specifications visit the Romain Jerome websight. Until them check these out...

Project: Motorola DCT3416

My brothers Motorola DCT3416 died, and I figured I would attempt to fix it. I want to start out by saying I know very little about PVR's, other than somewhere buried inside is a standard computer hard drive. While dropping off the DCT3416, my brother informs me that it doesn't turn on, and that it makes this clicking noise. My first assumption is that the HD is corrupt and or damaged and preventing the machine from booting. Replacing the internal HD should produce a simple fix, so lets go about doing just that. Replacing the internal HD is going to be slightly more complicated than originally anticipated as the rear of the DCT3416 has 3 tamper proof/security screws, which I do not have a tool for. Instead I used a series of pliers, and 10 minutes later had all the screws removed. Here is what the tamper proof/security screws look like, once removed.   I should add that there is also a plastic security tab, just above the IEEE 1394 jacks, which disintegrated when I attempted to

Longboarding With Team Original

Love this video, makes longboarding look like so much fun. Do they rent longboards? Are there areas to longboard here in BC? Gonna have to find out and finally give this sport a try. Until then I'll have to keep watching this video... Via - LikeCool By: Mass

Duct Tape...It's Not Just For MacGyver Anymore

I came across this crazy site the other day called Duct Tape Fashion , which specializes in duct tape. Wait... I don't think I explained myself properly, there's a website dedicated to duct tape, and all things duct tape related. Ok, so maybe I did explain myself properly, WTF...really, duct tape. Well it seems duct tape isn't just for HVAC specialists and MacGyver anymore, it seems people are using duct tape to create all kinda of weird items like wallets, baseball caps, hats, bags, bracelets, purses, visors, and roses. Don't believe me, well check out some of these pics I got... Wallets Baseball Cap Hats Bags Bracelets Purses Visors Roses By: Mass
