Caring For Your Live Christmas Tree

'Tis the season to pick up a tree  And trim it to perfection for everyone to see!  If it is real or fake is unnecessary, But we need to remember about everyone's safety!  Okay, okay, that's enough rhyming for me,  So lets just get down business and you'll soon be,  On your way to showing off your tree! For those of you who have decided to pick up a real tree this year, it can be a little overwhelming if you don't know where to start. First of all, you can always pick up a tree at your local grocery store. Usually they are sitting outside, bound up with net ready for transport. These might not be the greatest pick as you have no idea how old they are or even what they look like. However, if you are ready to embrace the character of your tree, just make sure the retailer is providing you with a fresh tree and your good to go. If you decided to cut your own tree, your local Christmas tree farm might offer a few species of trees to choose from. What type of tree is good

Are You A Grinch? Part 1

Christmas has become so commercialize over the years, that most retailers start displaying Christmas decorations right next to the Halloween supplies. That's almost 2 months of not so subtle, in your face marketing. So it seems only natural that a few of us might start exhibiting signs of Grinchness, while others have fully embrace the Grinchness (I don't think that's an actual word, but I do what I want around here, deal with it). So rather than live in denial, embrace you're inner Grinch... Why not make a few of these Grinch paper-craft figures to let people know how you feel? They're a perfect edition to any of the following locations. On a Christmas tree, as an ornament On the mantle, next to all the Christmas cards you get On the desk in you're cubicle Use it as a stocking stuffer Or you could get creative and splash it with perfume/cologne and double sided tape it to the dash of you're vehicle. Christmas...Bah! Humbug

I don't know why it is, but this Christmas I'm not feeling at all myself, but rather more like the Grinch. Maybe it's because I work part-time at a major supermarket, and my employer chooses to play Christmas carols 24/7 starting the day after Remembrance Day. Yeah that's right since November 12, I've been subjected to the ongoing drone of looped holiday tunes. Don't get me wrong, I don't mind the occasional festive jingle, but non-stop, on loop? If only I could convince the  United Nations  to put "Christmas Carols" on their agenda, anyone want to start a petition with me? Maybe it has something to do with the increased traffic during the holiday season. I'm sure many of you already know how I feel about driving ! Maybe it's because I'm getting older and by doing so I'm becoming less tolerant of rude people. Well, whatever it is, if you're not feeling the Christmas spirit either, then stay tuned as I post a few alternative Chri
