DIY Christmas Craft #9

Forget fortune cookies, how about fortune walnuts! Here's what you will need:

  • walnuts
  • sharp knife
  • skewer or butter knife
  • paper
  • marker
  • thin ribbon
  • glue
  • paint brush
  • gold paint
Run the tip of a sharp knife around the seam of the nut and twist the blade to start splitting the nut open. Use a skewer or butter knife to clean out the meat. Paint the outsides of the shell with gold paint and let them dry. While you are waiting, write fortunes on strips of paper, roll them up and tie them with ribbon.

Glue a 5" long piece of ribbon to the top inside edge of the shell. Place a fortune scroll inside the cavity of the shell and glue the two halves together. Press together for 15 seconds to make sure there is a seal and let dry before hanging.

Thanks Family Fun

Once I started my structured media home wiring project I realized the 16 port Netgear could be quite useful, but after a few unsuccessful attempts at utilizing it I realized it was DOA. Here's the situation, when this switch is plugged in, an LED will signify the unit is on and working, however whenever an Ethernet cable is inserted into any of the available jacks, there is no LED activity or connectivity. I took to the world wide web and came across a few similar situations all of which indicated that my unit probably had a bad capacitor. To verify if this was indeed the culprit behind my non functioning switch I woul
