Servants Of Hope: Feeding The Homeless 2015

What an amazing accomplishment, 10 years of giving back. It all started when a couple of friends decided to hand out chocolates and pop at Pigeon Park during the holiday season. Over the last 10 years this simple gesture has evolved into an event that brings the community together in a way that not only fills bellies, but also fills hearts.

In order to truly understand the magnitude of this event, it needs to be witnessed firsthand. I had the opportunity to attend in 2014 and can honestly say that I was overwhelmed by the experience.

While many of us are carried away with all the hustle and bustle of the holiday season, it’s reassuring to know groups like the Servants of Hope make time in their day to include those who are struggling with homelessness and addiction in the Downtown Eastside.

If you have never experience an event like this one, I urge you to add one more gift to your holiday list and donate your time to make the 2015 holiday season a memorable one for the bellies and hearts you will help to fill.
